American University of Antigua consists of a group of trained and experienced professionals in the field of medicine. The university was established in 2004 by physicians and later the Manipal University came on board, forming a medical school of class and high standard. The campus occupied by American University of Antigua is one of the most recently built and often considered the most modern Caribbean medical school. The American University of Antigua provides training and preparation for medical school through accredited premed programmes so that students are able to enter medical school confidently and succeed.

To further capitalize on the opportunities available for wealth preservation, our company works closely with registered agents for the Dominica Economic citizenship program which enable investors and families to apply for Dominican citizenship. The university boasts a humble beginning of only four students enrolled in 2004, to having grown to train more than 1,700 students in the fields of veterinary science, nursing, arts and life sciences. The university contains two main colleges, the College of Arts and Life Sciences, comprising the College of Medicine and School of Nursing, and the College of Veterinary Science. At the College of Medicine at American University of Antigua, facilitates hospital rotation and clinical clerkships at top teaching hospitals within the United States, whilst the School of Nursing is affiliated with Lehman College of the City University of New York, thereby enabling successful graduates easy access to Lehman College, after which a BSN degree is obtained by nurses upon completion of the one year program at Lehman College.

The faculty’s staff consists of remarkable, experienced lecturers and physicians who all hold Ph.D. and M.D degrees in their areas of specialty. Most lecturers at American University of Antigua are board certified and include individuals who have obtained national recognition for their work in their field.

In addition to medical studies, the American University of Antigua promotes medical research and as a result has facilitated research projects for the local Antiguan public by students of the school in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Antigua and Barbuda. Programs at the university ensure that students are properly trained and satisfy all requirements for licensure in the U.S. As such, the university is a hospital-integrated Caribbean medical school which enables students the opportunity to obtain firsthand, practical hospital experience and the curriculum is based on that of the United States. From the very first semester at American University of Antigua, students already are able to be in contact with students, consult with nurses and physicians. Rounds are done at the Mount St. John Medical Centre.

American University of Antigua has established affiliations with Plymouth State university and Walden university, and has articulation agreements with Assumption College, CUNY Lehman College (as discussed earlier), King’s College and Sungshin Women’s University so that students can be accepted seamlessly upon graduation from American University of Antigua. One more advantage of American University of Antigua, is the possibility of earning an online MBA in Health Care Administration with the University of Plymouth simultaneously with studies American University of Antigua. Students are allowed to pursue the MBA if they are able to dedicate at least four to eight hours to the program, already hold a first degree and currently enrolled as a student at American University of Antigua.
